virtual tour/richmond & vancouver
Picture Perfect Bed & Breakfast is located in Richmond, Island City by Nature and 3 minutes from the historical fishing village of Steveston, home of Canada’s largest commercial fishing fleet. There you will find whale watching and Cannery Channel tours, the historic Gulf of Georgia Cannery, Britannia Heritage Shipyards and some of the best fish and chips in the lower mainland.
July 1st is the Salmon Festival with a parade, children’s festival and the famous Steveston Salmon Bake. Salmon baked over an open wood fire. Fresh crab, salmon and shrimp are all available at Fisherman’s wharf. There are wonderful gift shops and restaurants for you to explore.
Since Richmond is an island there are extensive dykes and parks to explore. The dyke is just a block away from Picture Perfect and you can walk into Steveston in twenty minutes. The dyke trails are a haven for migratory and shore birds so bring your binoculars.
Richmond has six golf courses, many parks, Buddhist temples, and 2 shopping malls, the Gateway Theatre and the River Rock Casino and Show Lounge. The north end of No. 3 Road has many Asian restaurants and the Aberdeen Centre mall where shops offer all sorts of delights.
Public transit outside our door will take you into Vancouver in under an hour or you can drive downtown in 30 minutes and see the world famous Stanley Park and Vancouver Aquarium. Vancouver is host to the 2010 Winter Olympics. Richmond has the Speed Skating oval and Whistler is approximately 90 minutes away by car.

virtual tour/steveston village
Once home to 15 canneries, Steveston has long been known for its commercial fishery. Although, home to Canada's largest fishing fleet of more than 600 vessels, it no longer plays host to a single cannery, the last succumbing to fewer fish and development pressures.
Today, Steveston Village is better known as a place to get away from the rat-race, for locals, Lower Mainlanders and travelers alike.
